Leather Sectional Sofas

In my humble opinion leather wears like iron! I am the proud owner of a black leather sectional sofa. It has two built in recliners and a queen size sofa bed. My sectional has withstood numerous parties, messy food spills, sharp doggie claws, visiting tots, and rambunctious teenagers. Because we have overnight guests, and limited bedrooms, the queen sofa bed is quite handy. Leather sectionals are remarkable; a damp cloth cleans up any mess. Leather has many benefits other fabrics don‘t have. It lasts five times longer than cloth and is foremost in durability and semi fire-resistant. Heat and sun damage that rot most fabrics will not damage leather. It is tear resistant, breathable, and supple to the touch. Most of today's sofas are made from cowhide. Leather can be tanned from any animal hide such as pigskin, horse, lamb, elk, deer, moose, ostrich, (a great pair of boots), sheepskin and goat skin. It can be dyed with aniline, oil, or spirit pigments and even acrylics. Leather is the smart choice in todays planned obsolesce society. It lasts with little care. If you wish, you can feed your leather with glycerin rich cleaners like Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner. It’s always best to use the product prescribed by the manufacture. I find with a leather sectional, less care is required, just keep it clean and dust free.

When you shop for your new leather sectional furniture it is necessary to understand leather grades. This will help you choose the right sofa for your needs and price range. Expensive leathers such as top-grain aniline has been dipped in aniline dye, no finishes protect the hide. Semi-aniline is coated, the pigment protects against fading and staining. Stiffer pigmented leathers offer protection against deep scratches, and stains. It is more children friendly.

Quality is a great asset, but most likely you will shop price. The price for a leather sectional sofa can vary. Our sofa was purchased for $1200.00, a real bargain. It has more than paid for itself by its years of service. Before you shop for your new sofa it's important to know your floor space, door and room dimensions. A true disaster would be paramount, if the sofa was too big for the room or the door. Some sectionals have metal interlocking fasteners to keep the pieces aligned and prevent tipping. This makes them immovable once they are setup. Showroom floor models cost between $800.00-$5,000. They can be circular, L shaped or modular. Sectionals can also be custom built. If you have overnight guests a sofa bed is a good investment. You can solve a lack of space by purchasing a leather sectional with built in handy recliners. A sectional sofa is a timeless and smart investment. Sectionals came in vogue during the nineteen sixties and have remained a part of fashionable decor ever since that time.

A leather sectional is timeless, fashionable, durable and kid friendly. You can‘t have a more dynamic trinity in furniture selection.
