There are so many kinds of light fixtures that it may be hard to choose from. Most of them are very reasonably priced and you can rest assure there is one that you will find to suit your bathroom lighting wants and needs. Track lights are a set of lights usually three or more that are connected to a bar that you mount to the wall. There is also bar lights. bar lights are simply a long or short bar that is actually a light bulb that you usually would mount right over your medicine cabinet. Sconce style lights are usually used in conjunction with a chandelier or other bathroom vanity light fixtures to compliment a room. They come in a range of styles from contemporary to traditional. They give off the extra bit of light to cut out any dark shadows from other light fixtures.

The first thing to keep in mind is the size of the bathroom. You don't want a tiny bathroom with huge lights or vice versa. You want a light big enough to make the whole room brighter when it goes on. Since you use the bathroom as a sanctuary for showering after a hard day or getting ready for a night out you want something that brightens the room rather than something dull and dingy. A great light fixture for a large bathroom is track lighting. Track lighting allows you to have multiple lights and the design looks great in a big bathroom. If your bathroom is smaller keep in mind the thinner the fixture the more light it radiates.

Another important part of bathroom light fixtures is where you will put it. Many times people put it in the wrong place and when you try to look in the mirror you may see shadows or have areas where the light is not as bright. Generally lights are put closer to the mirror many times as you spend a lot of time doing things at the sink or mirror. The light should always be put taller than what you are at least by a few inches. Placing it directly above the mirror will most likely cast dark shadows when you look into the mirror so it is better if your are able to move a little away from the mirror.

The light bulbs you use also make a difference. If you are going for a very bright appeal than make sure you get a crisp white light bulb as well as high a watt the light fixture can handle according to the box it came in. A great energy as well as money saver is using energy saving light bulbs. They are available where regular light bulbs are sold. They do cost a slight bit more that regular light bulbs but they last 10 times longer and save you money on your electric bill not to mention that you are contributing to helping save the planet. If you are looking to improve you home and want to add resale value then it is always money well spent to purchase high quality and beautiful bathroom light fixtures.
